EORI – (Economic Operators Registration and Identification System)

EORI is a unique number required for companies engaged in international trade in the European Union. Since July 1, 2009, an EORI number is mandatory for companies involved in international trade in case of import, transit, export or other customs procedures in order to identify the company throughout the European Union.

A duly authorised management Board member or an accountant of the company can apply for an EORI number.

  • Who should register an EORI number?
    From July 1, 2009, the EORI number must be assigned to legal entities whose activities are related to customs activities, that is, activities related to the customs. The EORI number is mandatory for participants in foreign economic activity engaged in import, transit, export or other customs procedures.

    A Member of the Board of an Estonian company or an Accountant of the company can apply for an EORI number if they have sufficient authority to do so.
  • How to provide access to the Tax and Customs Board to obtain an EORI number in Estonia?
    You can grant us access to obtain an EORI number using a digital signature through authorisation in the e-MTA.
  • What kind of identity document is suitable for registering an EORI number in Estonia?
    In order to register an EORI number, you can use the following documents: ID-card of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Belgium; Estonian e-resident card; Mobile-ID of Estonia and Lithuania.
